Time to Bring in a NEW year...

2009...it's been quite a year

Some bad...but definitely outweighed by the GOOD! I thank God for all that he has done and will continue to do in my life. I don't do new years resolutions, but I hope and pray to have a great 2010. Hopefully someone special will come into my life in 2010...time will tell. This single life thing is kinda gettin old...i think i'm ready to let go of the partyin ways if that special someone comes along. Hey just keepin it real with y'all!

Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff! lol...I hope everyone had a good/great 2009! I pray 2010 will be even better!!!! Happy Holidays

How Dare You Question The Value of My Education...

I saw a video of a young lady...who refused to identify herself as black because she felt as if members of the african-american race are "coons" and "niggers"...She disrespected HER RACE and the value of education at Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU's).

I took offense to it because I know the value of my education as well as the millions of others who have attended and graduated from HBCU's...I am a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and worked my ass off to earn it.

For anyone who has the ignorant mindset and lack of knowledge regarding HBCU's google it because I don't teach ignorance.

There's so much that i could've done and been into were it not for me caring about the feelings of my family and religious values...

I do see that the life I've chose to live is better than what I could've lived...but damn...sometimes i just wanna break out and do what i wanna do.

I try to say that law school was all my idea and it's in my heart...but that's not the case so you read between the lines...BUT...it was my decision to go through with it so I'm gonna stick it out and become one tough ass lawyer in a few years. But are there days when I wonder WHY? HELL YEAH.

But, I digress...

The one thing that I am gonna go through with that is probably against how my fam feels is gettin a tattoo...I've been contemplating on gettin one for years but never had the guts to go through with it. My dad doesn't like tats...but his ass has about 5 fraternity brands...yeah, gon and say it...WTF?! I know...i say that too!

So...yep i'm gonna do it...hopefully soon. I plan on gettin a tat of my astrological sign...which is Gemini...yep, Gemini's are the best...don't hate! lol

The Death Angel is Busy...

Man, it's alot of celebrity death goin on...R.I.P. to DJ AM...you may remember that he was the guy who had survived the plane crash with Travis Barker last year...well today he was found dead in an apartment with prescription drugs surrounding him.

Of course the biggest shocker was the death of Michael Jackson...but to be honest about the whole MJ situation, it just seemed like people weren't gonna stop until they could blame MJ death on somebody. His death has been ruled a homicide and somebody is gonna take the wrap...that damn Dr. Murray went from bein on top to lookin at jail time for a long time...DAMN!

But, I hope everything works out...R.I.P. to everyone who has passed away this year...

Usain Bolt shattered his own world record at the IAAF World Track Championships by finishing the 100-meter at a time of 9.58!...are you serious?! Like I said...THE BOY IS BAD.

But the scary part is...I think he can run even faster than that...I would be shocked but not surprised if he ran under 9 seconds. HE'S A BEAST.

Damn i miss college...lol...those were the damn days.

But anyway, there's this guy that's been on my mind alot lately...i know, awww right? lol...but the bad part is i actually had him once and pretty much phucked it up...i'll admit to it...damn! I haven't been in a serious relationship in a couple of years...been approached by alot but they just didn't have that wow factor. What's the wow factor you ask...well it's just me being interested back and actually taking the time to actually kick it and get to know them. I've been on quite a few dates but it pretty much ended there.

Distance kills everything! lol...me and long distance relationships don't get along. First, i'm not much of a phone person...so if i gotta talk to you on the phone all day and not actually get to see you...we have a problem! Second, i believe in that "grow apart" shit...sometimes when you're around people other than the spouse, your mind starts wandering...if i'm apart from somebody too long i get frustrated and unfortunately the attitude will come out...when that happens we can pretty much call it quits.

But, i'm keepin hope alive...lol...i don't like to look back but if someone from the past was to come back around, i might be willing to give it another go around. I'm a lil older and wiser now...and appreciate things a lil better now too. But no tellin who that right one will be...only time will tell...

I'm "TRIPLE A" Person...

So I went to church today and the title of the sermon was 'I am a "Triple A" Person'...this means that i am APPOINTED, ANNOINTED, and APPROVED by God...when you think about it, we all were placed on this earth with an assignment from God AKA our destiny...But it won't be handed to us, which is where many people are mistaken.

Everyday God looks at us with a smile on his face. If we work, stay prayed up, and stop tryin to please man instead of God...then we will see those abundant blessings. So just remember, whenever someone tries to get in your way or put you down just know that you are a TRIPLE A person...APPOINTED, ANNOINTED, and APPROVED by God.

Oh yeah...listen to the words of that song called 'It's the God in Me' by Mary Mary...it goes kinda hard!

just thinkin about life...

Ok...so i have a college degree...currently in law school...but i still wonder where will i actually be in a few years. Will i be happy? Will i be financially stable? what city/state will i live in? who will i be with? will i be alive?...man life is so unpredictable. I have the thoughts of where i would like to be...but will they actually come into existence? I just pray to have many many many wonderful years ahead of me. Only time will tell...but i'll just continue to take life day by day. Hopefully all of the hard work will pay off and i end up where i'm supposed to be.

I just pray that God keeps me on the right path...cause a person's life can change in a split second by one mistake. I see so many brilliant people get caught up with the wrong crowd and their life goes in a whirlwind...i don't wanna become that person.

I see so many talented people that are too lazy to pursue their destiny...why? But then again...I see so many people who work their ass off to make their dream a reality and can't catch a break. That's just how life is. Life is the most precious thing to have...and i wish that we all could live forever. Sometimes i lay down and just like to feel my heart beat...because i know that one day it will stop. I don't know how or when i'm gonna die but i pray it's after a looooong lived prosperous and enjoyed life.

I hope that everyone makes the best out of what they have. Some may not be where they want to be...but thank God for where you're at. There's always someone who would love to fill our shoes if we won't. Ask for God's favor and keep the faith.

Damn...i predicted the nuggets and cavs would be in the nba finals. I was so wrong...lol. I didn't think the lakers and magic would pull it off but they did. So, I'm just gonna be quiet and say "may the best team win!"

2009 NBA Playoffs...where AMAZING really does happen!

May 22, 2009: Cleveland Cavaliers v. Orlando Magic, Game 2. With the Magic up 95-93 and 1.0 second left on the clock, Lebron James drains a 3-pointer for the win...DID YOU SEE THAT SHOT?!?! Man, if you missed it...shoot yourself...LOL j/k. But that was one hell of shot that will definitely go down as one of the greatest in NBA history.

If you don't know, I'm a huge basketball fan! That's damn near the key to my heart...lol. There's nothing like sitting at the edge of your seat prayin for your team to win...when all of a sudden you and the crowd explode with victory. Those are the best moments. The sport of basketball is suspenseful, amazing, and definitely unpredictable...anything can happen on any given night!

But yeah, i just had to blog about that shot cause it was a great one by Lebron James. I don't know who is gonna win the championship this year but both the cavs/magic and nuggets/lakers series have been great to watch...But here is my prediction: The final two teams will be the Cavaliers and Nuggets...Cavaliers will win the 2009 NBA Title.

Ok that's my prediction...we'll see what happens!

law school...

Alot of people ask me "how is law school?"...and i respond "it's goin"...lol...It's just kinda unexplainable! I guess it's just one of those things that you just have to experience for yourself in order to understand and get an answer to the question. But i can say that law school definitely humbles people and forces you to study. It's simple: either you put in work or you will get left behind.

I completed my first year and i'm definitely glad its over...hoping for the best on the grades. There were many long and stressful nights, but i made it. Everyone says the first year is the hardest so hopefully it'll be smooth sailing for the next 2 years (like they say). One misconception is that people think law school is only for a certain type of white collar, rich, 4.0gpa student...but that is just plain WRONG. Law school is for anybody willing to put in the work and endure til the end.
